Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Brand Name orginally, the tablets come in a film coated delayed-release capsule form. They are also available in the form of tablets. The film-coated delayed-release capsules contain 20 mg esomeprazole and contain Esomeprazole 20 mg, which is the same ingredient as Nexium 24HR. Take Nexium 24HR exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor has told you. Read the label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to tell you what you will need to take.
Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are taking proton pump inhibitors (PPI) such as omeprazole, lorepax or pomegranate as these may cause drowsiness and increased heartburn. If you are taking esomeprazole you can take it with or without food. However, PPIs can cause drowsiness and increase your heartburn. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are taking esomeprazole with other drugs that cause drowsiness such as anti-inflammatory drugs (including aspirin and ibuprofen), sedative or tranquilizer drugs (including anhedonia and sleeping pills).
Nexium 24HR tablets contain 20 mg esomeprazole and contain Esomeprazole 20 mg, which is the same ingredient as Nexium 24HR. Take Nexium 24HR exactly as your doctor has told you.
Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are taking antacids containing aluminum or magnesium because these may cause drowsiness and increased heartburn. If you are taking anti-acid drugs (including esomeprazole), you can take Nexium 24HR with these drugs. If you are taking PPIs such as omeprazole or lorepax, you may take them with esomeprazole. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are taking PPIs such as esomeprazole or lorepax.
